Basic Theory Test (BTT)

Before obtaining the driving licence, it is compulsory to pass the Basic Theory Test(BTT) first.

Basic Theory Test (BTT) is conducted by the Singapore Traffic Police at any of the driving centres:

- ComfortDelgro Driving Centre (CDC)
- Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC)
- Bukit Batok Driving Centre (BBDC)

The minimum age required is 18. The Basic Theory Test (BTT) applies to foreign driving licence conversions too.
There are 50 multiple choice questions (MCQ) which have to be completed within 50 minutes.

The test is computer-based and is offered in English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil.

Out of the 50 questions, at least 45 (90%) of them need to be answered correctly in order to pass the test.
